Technique question: Knife edge rolls

To keep the pitch of the plane up where do you guys input, when the plane is knife-edged or in the high alpha part of the roll? I don't have much exp in seeing these and my brain is learning to do 2 hands independent of each other (why I can't play piano well :p ) So whats the best technique? I don't mean Slow rolls either, i understand those require input on each quarter turn, I am speaking of the quicker variety. Thanks for trying to understand the above and for any advice you may have! :D

Best,
Steve

Well regardles of speed it requires the same inputs. You also want a blip of throttle to help keep the roll going and nose up. It's lots of rudder depending how fast you are rolling.

1:12-1:20 or so. My hands are used to fast movements for online gaming like in counterstrike or call of duty but this is a tad more difficult to get a 'handle' on :P Thanks for any help!

Rolling Harriers

This will give you the basics but it takes lots of practice to do.

Mike that is a great video, thanks for the link. That is what I was looking for. I appreciate it. He's using digital servos probably, which are a little faster than our HS55's. Do I need to be quicker and give the servos more time to get there? I will try it on the Sim tonight. See what I can do. Cheers!

The 55s are fast he is useing JR8611a which are slower than your 55s. Also I can roll the Edge or the Yak at wide open and the hs55 will keep up no problem.

Mike, if I may ask as well; In your YAK video, at 36, 37, & 38 seconds you do an offset roll, 3 times consecutively. When you exit the maneuver it is dead on. Do you use couter steering to stop it exactly where you want or is the plane just that good that you re-center the sticks and it follows that quickly?

I've seen this in most of your videos too, by the way. Thanks for the help.

No problem for helping that is what I am here for. They are three inside snaps in a row very easy to do with the plane. The plane stops when the sticks are neutralized no counter input. For those I get the plane level WOT then go full up elevator full left ruder and full left aileron all in the same instant for about a second. It is just timing to get it come back out level. They are really easy to do with the plane try it you will see.
