I've heard that routing an antenna back on itself is asking for serious problems, but how close does it have to be?
Would it be o.k. to run the antenna along the bottom of the fuse to the rear, and then up on the top of the fuse toward the front?
Maybe I should just get one of those mini antenna things.

What brand receiver do you have? Hitec receivers come with the plastic piece that you wrap about half the antanna around to shorten it. Has no effect on the range. I use that on my Edge then run the rest down the bottom of the fuse. On many other planes, however, I just run it down the bottom of the fuse, up the rudder, and back along the top of the fuse if it's that long. I've never had any range issues with any planes with it routed like this.

Ya, I got one of those with my Hitec Rx, but wasn't too sure about it. Now that I've heard more positive things about it, I'll do that. Thanks.

We here at airfoilz use this ant with NO problems- http://www.3dxhobbies.com/Peel_Stick_antenna_base_loaded_for_72mhz_p/rcdstxy.htm

Hogger,
I use the antenna Paul suggests on my AirfoilZ planes. Stick it to the bottom of the fuselage. Works fine with my Hitec MS05 Micro receivers.
