Found this site this am. Went directly to AZ, ordered a ?. Few minutes ago got back to Forum. Check my email to see what plane I ordered.
Edge 540 FF, and email waiting telling me it had shipped. WOW
thanks Paul
Now a question maybe 2 I'm really new to Electric RC, and the motor question comes up again.
300W ? Kv ? Is there a site to explain any of this...
ESC's pretty much dictated by the motor, I think, along with LIPO's.
I'll be using 1800 V2 Lipo's. Servo's no problem. Futaba probably.
What motor from where?
I also ordered some Mercury CAM100F. Hope it will work with your kit??
Thanks again
Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. The motor KVA determines how fast the motor tries to turn per volt. The higher the KVA the higher the motor speed with the same prop. Also more amps and more watts. Too high a KVA though won't let you use the correct prop. The AirfoilZ planes like a KVA between 1000 and 1300 with a 3S Lipo pack. The motor you choose will depend alot on how you like your plane to feel in the air. The lighter Common Sense motor E5-L-13 with a 10x5 APC E prop works well if you like a ligher feel. I also like an AXI 2808-24 with an APC 11x5.5 E prop cut down to 10.5 inch diameter. I do use a 2100 pack with the AXI though. The watts are the total power output of the motor. Anything over 250 watts works fine. 300 watts gives great performance.
