HELP:eek:
I just noticed that the carbon spar has seperated from one side of my elevator. This would have been devastating if it occurred during flight. Is this a common failure? I followed the assembly instructions to the letter. Maybe I added too much microballons to my epoxy mix. So... is there a way to reglue without cutting things (hinges, spar) apart? I am still concerned about it detaching in the future. I guess thats why real pilots look everything over before flying. :)
Thanks in advance!

NO that is not a common problem, or a point of failure, one of my team pilots logged almost 900 flight on his Yak-54. If you bump it hard enough you could crack the foam that the carbon is attachment to but under flight condition that joint will not fail if it's glue properly.

Just epoxy it back in place holding the alignment with blue painter's tape. Should be fine.

I've broken my elevator there a couple times in cartwheels across the field :) I almost like it breaking at this spot because it saves the elevator foam to break in 2. For the fix just tape the counterbalance level with the stab so both elevators are level and glue it back in place... Good as new!
