Is it just the look, or is there a variation in the flying ability\style of each? I currently am playing around with some Hobby Lobby Yak-55's & ordered some "Pitts S-2" 3D Profile Planes as they were 15$ each.

The Airfoilz look much more stable for light winds, and are larger than what I have now.

What ESC\Motor\Prop\Batteries would be good for the majority of the planes? UnitedHobbies has some nice ESC\Motor combos, but I don't think they are large enough for Airfoilz.

I currently have Esskay 400XT Outrunner Brushless Motors, 800mah 11.2V LiPo's, and a CC Thunderbird 18 ESC.

You will need a new set up. There are combo kits on www.3dxhobbies.com you might want to look at. I like the scorpion motors as they seem to have the most power. Each plane flys a little different and gives its own unique feel in the air. For a basic 3D pilot or learner the Yak 54 would be a perfect match for you. It does everything but is more stable in manouvers. The edge gets more wild and is better for voilent tricks such as knife edge spins, snaps, and blenders. Now both the yak, and edge will do everytrick in the book, but some like each one for different reasons. The bipe is just a ULTIMATE 3d monster but takes a bigger motor than the edge and yak. The mobius pro is a all out pattern beast and would take the same motor as the bipe or bigger depending on your style.

Hope this helps.

I figured my setup was a little small for these planes. I think I will mark the Yak 54 as my next plane then, after I beat on these HL Foamy's a bit :D

I can dig around for a motor\ESC, but aprox what size batteries should I look to use?

Thanks....

I've had good luck with ThunderPower 1320mah 3S lipos on my Yak 54. I'm about to try some of the new Vislero 20C 1300s available thru www.3dxhobbies.com I've heard they really pack a punch! Some like to run packs as large as 2100mah. You should get LOTS of flight time out of a pack that size.
