Hi All,
I recently completed my Edge 540 and took it out for it's maiden voyage. This is only my second plane, and my first plane with ailerons. As you can see from the video, I still have a lot to learn. The plane is difficult to see most of the time, and unfortunately, the camera man let the plane get out of frame right before the crash landing. Anyway, for you amusement, here is a link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJ3bGLUY-T8

The plane was pulling to the left most of the time. I adjusted the rudder as much as I could with my radio. After "landing" I could see that the rudder was way off center to compensate for the pull. What else could be causing the plane to pull to the left so much? Also, any tips on better landings? Enjoy, Justin

Check your motor thrust. Try to put some washers on the left side "Standing from behind the plane" of your motor so it will be turned to the right to help compinsate. As for your landing, be smoother on the elevator, it really lands itself.

for your first 4 channel you did really well, as for the pull, motor thrust can cause it, also put a ruler on the end cap of the wing to make sure the ailerons are inline with the wing, if so use you can use your trim tab for the ailerons to stop the pull.

Your battery looks far back on that bird, could it be to tail heavy?? The battery on yours is half way down the wing and others I have seen have the battery more towards the leading edge of the wing......just wondering!

Since everyone posted their responses to my video and question I have added washers under the left side of the motor mount, and moved my battery forward a little. Since then I have had great success in flying my plane. Take offs are quick and easy, it flies great, and as long as I bring it in on a relatively smooth surface the landings are easy. I will try and get a new and improved video up soon. Thanks, Justin
