alternative covering?

im thinking about about buying another edge, i have tons of ultracoat, and monokote, would any of those work on the foamie

NO, the heat will melt the foam.

You can use a lower temp covering like Econokote from great planes. I have used that stuff to cover foam wings with no problem.. Of course there is differant kinds of foam so id try it out on a scratch piece before you do anything major.

I used monokote self adhesive covering on my edge (the kind you have to peel the backing off prior to sticking)

Here's a trick; to make the original scheme out of different colors, peel off the original and stick it on the paper backing of the desired self adhesive covering. then cut using the original decals as a template and presto! new decal colors.
