Just finished the build of my new Bipe NX and wanted to share a few photos for all who are interested.

This is what it looked like out of the box.

Off to a good start.

Starting to look like a plane.

All finished up. Ready for electronics and power system.

As many do, I kind of went my own way when applying the decals. I just can't get the dog to stay in his seat. (;

As a follow up note, I have finished the Bipe and got the chance to fly it yesterday. I had set all the control surfaces up with the 45+ degree of travel and radio set at 25% expo as suggested in the manual. (for 3-D flight) Being the experienced flyer I am, I didn't bother with setting duel rates. :eek:
After a hair raising first take off (partly due to wind), I would recommend using that feature if you have it. I programed it in as soon as soon as I could get back on the ground. :D After that, and my nerves settled down, it was a joy to fly. Changes in direction are unbelievably quick and hovering is easy, even for me.

Here is a tip that may save you a chunk of missing foam.
Because of my past experiences with wing tip strikes on the pavement during not so pretty landings, I painted just a little epoxy mixed with micro balloons to the bottom of the wing struts. It has already paid off. :D

Great job! What electronics did you end up using?

The motor I chose is a Scorpion 3008-28 with a Thunder Power 30A ESC. Futaba S3110 servos on the ailerons and elevator, S3108 on the rudder. I am using a Futaba R165 RX with a Berg sticky antenna. All up weight for the first flight was just a touch over 26oz with a 1200 mAh battery. The first flights were with an APC 9X6 and it did fine though clime outs were a bit sluggish. A 9X4.7is now installed for the next time out. After that I will try a 10X4.7 but it will be pushing the limits of the 30A ESC at full throttle and reduce flight time enough to require a larger battery. When I get around to trying a 10X4.7 I'll hook a watt meter up and see how it is doing first.

Glad you're liking how it flies. Try an APC 11x5.5 with that motor. Should be about 28 amps with tons of thrust. I use a 2100 pack on mine.

Thanks, I will give it a go.
I am loving how this plane flies, harriers with almost no wing rock and hanging it off the prop is easy.
I've not added any weight or trim to get it to fly like this either, just put the COG as per the manual. :D
