I am going to be getting my extra 260 this week and I have a question about the decals. Should I put them on before final essembly or do it as you go.

I noticed that some of the decals go over the aileron etc.

I am familiar with putting them on (use febreze or a little soapy water).

Thanks

Rodney

I generally put mine on after the plane is assembled.

Just got my extra last night and have the fuselage done. I was looking at the decals and I am familiar with the wetting surface process.........now my question is:

How close do you cut out the decals to the edge of the pattern. Do you leave 1/4 inch or so around the color part of the decal?

Thanks!

Rodney

Great how did you find the build??

Cut right to the line, we outlined the decals to make it easier. You also do not have to cut in between, you can cover using the whole thing.

Paul,

So what you are saying is that I can lay the decal over the plane like a blanket and then smooth it out?

P.S.

You seem to have a great company....I like what you guys do! This is my first Airfoilz plane....home to have many more!

The decals for the wings and stab are designed to cover in one piece. Just cut to the line that outlines the surface. You can cut to the lines of the design, to save some weight, but it is not necessary. I cut to the design lines on the fuselage to make it easier to fit around the wing.

Well guys, I don't know if it was by design or luck but the point of the star at the fuse on the main wing decal points to exactly 3 3/4" back from the leading edge. Pretty handy whether designed or not.

Is that true (cover the whole fuse sides) for the Mikey scheme as well??

This is true? I got a message on RCG that I should cut the decals along the design for the fuse. Otherwise, one decal I have doesn't cover the fuse side.

Which do you find works better, Febreze or soapy water? I have never tried Febreze before.

Glass cleaner works best for me...and I have done this a few times!!
