I recently purchased one of your new Extra 260 Full Fuse kits and while its not assembled yet, (Still getting all the bits to build it), it looks like a great plane. The only thing I would like to see changed is the addition of a removable main wing so it will fit in my rather small car. Have you guys considered building the full fuse kits to use a removable wing assembly similar to the Precision Acrobatics Mini Katana? It might add a little cost to to the kit but it would make transporting and storing the planes easier. I have an idea on how to do it and it would not be too hard.

Yes we have and it's not worth the weight gain, we have proto's with removable wings and they work but add much weight.

It isn't really needed! I can fit to Extras in the back of my Civic...with the back seats down of course;)

I some times wish my trunk was as large as a civics. :)

Miata = Micro Trunk Not even my 24" bi-plane fits with the wings on.

Guess I will have to cruise to the flying field in the wife minivan.

So true!:o I can fit more in the Durango than the civic and my king cab truck! I am going to need a trailer before to long;) at least ones for my planes!

Removable wings would be great, but I can see where weight might be an issue.
Only place my Yak "fits", is the front seat when I have the kids in the car.

A wattage 28" (or something around that) stearman bipe will fit in the boot of a 2002 miata, almost exactly... haha

Im always trying to make removeable wings in my planes.. but its at least another few oz of weight, and were all trying to take out weight for teh flying, so it always ends up being a big nonremovable wing plane. Get someone to drive the car while you fly your edge to the field (or even better, multitask..). Thats what a folding roof is for...

go buy a used mini van they work great for carrying planes in. Pull out the seats and build a pvc rack and you can get quite a few planes in it and there good on gas.
