Ok Im digging the New Yak I have. What a fun plane.

I was flying a 10x4.7 but it just ate the battery up so fast.
Put a regular 1060 on there and battery last twice as long.

My question is what would be the ideal prop to learn to hoover with?

Im thinking something like 1147, 1150, 1247, 1260.

Motor is hacker clone 20-20L and 30 amp esc.

What your experiences.
Thanks

I was flying my Hacker(no clone) 20/20 with an APC 11X5.5E prop.

I liked it a lot. Better then the 11X3.8 or 10X4.7SF props.

I did not do a lot of full throtte but I came down after 7 mins and only put back 700mah in my 1320 pack.

It also seemed to hover better then the 11X3.8. Seemed to have a smoother throttle response.

Try it out. but don't hold WOT for an extended period. I did not meter it but I believe the amps will be over 20.

Check the motor for hottness :D when it comes down. Mine was cool but I am in 50° weather right now.

Have Fun!

I flew with a 10x5 e. It hovered fine and pulled less amps than a 10x4.7.

ThanksMake sure that whatever you choose, you have enough punch out to get you out of a jam. I find that when I am hovering and things are getting ugly, if your nose it pointing above the horizon, that going full throttle saves the day. If you do not have good punch out from a hover, then there is a chance you will put it in.

I am not sure if you have the full fuse Yak or the profile but I have the profile and the 10x4.7 has long run times (8 minutes on 1320 TP Prolites) and good punch out.

Yeah, I second that.
I have profile Yak & 540 running Hacker 20/20L and Scorpion 2215/18 and get approx 8 - 10 mins on 10x4.7, pull out of hover is good.

That makes since being able to recover or pulled out of hover.

Thanks
