Ok, I am completely new to electric flight and had a quick question on the wires from the speed control to the motor. There are three wires from the Hacker 20-20 motor to the x20 speed control. Does it matter which wire plugs into which? I understand that brushless speed controls are AC power, unlike brushed speed controllers that operate on DC. I have never understood much about AC power. I read the whole manual for the ESC and motor and it isn't mentioned anywhere in there.

Also... does the speed control power the receiver via the throttle plug? I assume that the BEC circuitry does this, just wanted to confirm with someone...

Yes, the speed controller goes into the throttle plug. And as for the wires, I just plug them in and if u start your motor and its backwards, change 2 wires :)

Of course it was backwards... I reversed two wires and all is ok. Took a while to get the speed controller to work. Mostly because I forgot to put the crystal in. Ooops. Figured it out after about 20 minutes of being confused and unplugging/repluggin, reversing plugs on the receiver and such. All is good now though, will be maiden flighting it tonight.

Glad you got it worked out.
