My Edge decals have "Avery" on the backing and the Yak is something different. The Edge was very user friendly in doing the application by using a 1 quart H2O spay bottle with 3 drops of Dawn dish washing soap and applying a moist to almost dripping coat of this solution prior to laying the decals in place. A credit card made for a good smoothing and removal of excess liquid. Excellent results and no areas have come loose after much abuse.
Several of the Yaks I have seen at our club have big problems with the decals not sticking. I thought that there was an upgrade to cure this glitch. I am ready to do my Yak decals and I am thinking that I will do a labor intensive masking job and do the old graphics application with a very light misting of 3m-77 contact cement.
suggestions or comments appreciated.

Did you try just sealing the edges of the decals? Once we sell all of the decals for the Yak we are switching over to all vinyl. I have used a glue stick and that has worked nicely.

I'll put a glue stick in my flt box. That is a good idea.
thx,

I have made decal repairs at home using Foamhesive from Billy Hell. Put a drop on the edge of the decal, smear it around with your finger and touch it down to the foam. Lift the decal, wait 15 seconds and press it back down. Works a treat :)

Got my 2 x Yak 54'z in the post today! :D (1 for friend)
One of the first things i noticed were the Decals.
My Edge 540 came with die cut Avery vinyl type decals (Very Nice Indeed!) and this Yak has 'plastic' type film. :(
They're also creased and have lifted from the backing, not very tacky either.....im a bit worried to be honest.

Nice 450R u race cc. I have the 400 got out of it before the 450 came out. I raced MX to many crashes flying RC is much safer.
All the old decals are going away as soon as they are sold out then everything will be vinyls. Call paul if u really want the new vinyals paul will cut them for you I am not sure how much they cost.

Hey Mikey,
Cheers, for the reply.
I don't race anymore either (all busted up), but i still need fast toys :D ....that 450 has cost me a bomb! My younger bro has the EX!
As far as the decals are concerned...... i checked the fuse decal this morning, and it seems to have stuck pretty good...but i can tell they are not as good a quality as the decals that came with the 540. (Cutting them out is also a bit of a pain the neck) But once these beauty's are in the air... i'll forget all about the deals! I really do love my Airfoilz 540 (Favorite of my fleet), and cant wait to take this Yak for a spin!
Thanks again, have a X-mas all!

Merry X-Mas All,
Managed to finish the Yak up yesterday.

The 540 now has a buddy to hang out with! :D
Managed to squeeze in a quick fly this afternoon...... WOW!
Only got about 8 mins of fly time, first minute or so was spent trimming it up and the rest was an absolute blast! I am amazed how how fast this thing rolls, and snaps out of them into level flight with precision and ease.... blown away by the first flight....cant wait to get back up!
I am no pro when it comes to flying and nor am i worthy of making any huge calls about planes, but i have owned and built well over a 20 different foamie electrics, and these Airfoilz are by far the most well thought out and performing electrics i have owned so far. Quality is second to none. Design is so simple yet effective! They build very straight and true which is great.
I am going to have to eventually check out the Bipe and Mobius! :D
