Wing spar taper

My wing spar is banana shaped, tapered on one end to .9 cms. The other end at the splice is 1.2 cmsThe add on piece is a constant 1.2 cms .Is that normal? If I was to use this my wing would be a bit thicker on one end. So I went and made up a new spar that is constant thickness. Is this ok or should I make one with a taper?

I just found out that the spar tapers 3 mm from the root to the tip.Now I need to know when I make a new one does the taper start at the center and taper 1.5mm to the tip on each side?

You can omit the tapering, it's not needed.
