I am working on the flight physics of the yak to get it as close as I can to the real thing it might take a few days but it is getting there. Looking forward to fly with you paul we had a lot of fun last night. When you get yours I think it would be great if you dedicated one of your srvers to host 24 7.

The hosting method is strange, i don't think there's a way to setup a server. Only way is to minimize the program and let it run in the background.
I had some issues hosting last night, for instance i would set the session limit to 12 slots, after 12 people had come and gone no more pilots could log in even if there were only 3 people flying, as if the "slots" were still busy even people logged off.
still this is beyond my expectations, so much fun! I'll be on tonight for sure.

Trying to tweak the YAK on the sim go fly in real life it is hard to get it perfect back and forth I dont know if I will ever get it perfect but it is better than it was. I will keep working on it.

getting a new problem now, I got the new yak file in and works, now when I am trying to get back in, even though everything here (internet wise) is just fine, it says that it can't contact server list or something, and that the search failed I clicked over and over to no avail. What's wonrg?

I went out last night, would have joined in for sure. I'll be on later.
I have heard some mixed opinions about updating to g3.5, the absense of retro-compatibility is a little bit of a concern as i would like whatever platform we use to be accessible to everyone. But i also heard it described as excessive eye candy and less realistic physics. If that's the case then all the more reason not to jump on 3.5
Your thoughts?

man you all are very good! I'm as you can see working on rolling harriers and hovering. I have not flown a sim in a very long time, but flying on-line is tons of fun so you will see me on their every chance I get.

The plane isn't modeled for g3.5 yet. A bunch of us are staying on the older version because we like the flight physics better.

Ok, well. many of us were sticking to 3.0.448 due to disapointing results of the initial 3.5 release.
A new beta version is available to the public and i strongly suggest you try it; I will be hosting with it more frequently now as it is better than ever and i have a lot of practicing to do... Join me!
Perform the following steps to obtain the update:
1. Start the RealFlight G3.5 Launcher
2. Click Additional Options, then Technical Support
3. Click Enter Tech Support Code
4. Enter the following code: B#a55q8j459q43 (If successful, you will see a message saying "You are now registered to use the Public Beta site until the new version is posted to official download site.")
5. Go back to the main Launcher menu and click Registration/Updates
6. Make sure that in the bottom left corner it says Temporary Public Beta (PS). If not, try reentering the code
7. Click Update to Latest Version, or click Update to Specific Version, choose 3.50.042 from the list, and click OK.
The Launcher will need to restart partway through this process. Answer "Yes" when it asks if you want to continue downloading the new version. When this process is finished, you will have RealFlight G3.5.

to those who haven't done so yet, i suggest you upgrade to 3.5.0.44.
then if all you see is trainers ask us what our planes are and download them, most of them will be here (http://www.knifeedge.com/forums/downloads.php?) you will have to register, trust me it's worth it.
these days i enjoy practicing with the sky pirates extra 330s, some say it's too easy, i find it usefull to learn new moves that once i have down on the perfect flyer i can later perfect on a more demanding plane.

click the screen (flying area) and press T untill you are focused on the plane you wish to see, then press number 2 and voila! a virtual tx appears on the screen with nice obvious red dongles so you can watch the plane and still see the movements in your peripheral vision.
Looking forward to flying with you buddy. Maybe later tonight!

A few simple rules of online flight etiquette;
Pay attention to what is going on, there may be all kinds of events, if you suck, like me, you can do as i do and try your best, otherwise forfeit your turn and watch others do it, it's ok to stare, they love to show off :p
Don't leave trash on the runway. If you want to stop and chat or take a breather, reset your plane and taxi it well out of the way. Don't leave crashed debris on or near the takeoff area or others may get stuck in it and not be able to take off.
No helis in an airplane fly in, does that makes sense? I mean if it were a trex fly in i sure wouldn't go fly my plane there.
Don't use smoke or streamers big enough to disturb the view of others and slow down computers, not using any at all is better. No jets, they have that effect too, some people have slower machines than others so when hosting it is preferable to use photofields, sod farm seems to be the lightest of the bunch to run.
No oversized aircraft, i mean it's ok to fly a 50% scale model downloaded from knifedge forums but goofing off with a 400% sized version of one leaves no room for others. Have as much fun as you want with them when you are alone at the field :)
Other than that: have fun!

Just read that G-4 is on the way!I seen that and just like G2, there is no upgrade path for the software except for selling the old and buy all new... :mad: ...I just don't get it.....Also, why not just an option for buying just the software with some ability to just use your radio? I think there is one sim out there that has that ability.

well, why use your own radio to practice rather than using the included radio to put some decent wear and tear on it, i had to send my interlink to get it repaired many times, and it's worth it, once you learn to use the interlink, you have a possibility of any other radios

When someone hosts one they usually put the info in here. It'll be a server name or Ip of which you go into the multiplayer part of G3 and join the game.
