OK, I am to the point of installing the elevator and rudder and the manual states "Placing a very small drop of oil on the hinge pin will help keep any excess epoxy from binding the hinge. Slide the hinges into the stabilizer and then slide the elevator onto the hinges. Keep the hinge line tight. Take care not to get any epoxy on the hinge barrel!"

The hinges in my kit are a rectangle plastic pieces with a slimmer center section that I am assuming are where the piece bends, and that the directions are referring to a part that is no longer supplied? And this part was an actual hinge with a pin (possibly removable)?

A question for the future. How does one replace these hinges if one were to break? What kind of lifespan will these bendy hinges have?

They will last till ur plane is no longer... "A VERY LONG TIME" I use vasaline in the middle and it doesnt get stuck together.... Be sure to put something because you dont want it to stick together.
