First Airfoilz plane I've build (Edge 540) and I've made a bit of a mistake. I managed to glue the rudder post in place before I'd hinged up the elevator.
Of course this meant that I could no longer get the elevator into position so I've had to cut a section out of the rudder post, insert and hinge the elevator and then CA a section back into the rudder post as below:

Question is - is this 'fix' going to be strong enough or do I need to add some extra bracing here? - I don't want to add weight unnecessarily...

You should be good to go.... That just keeps the vertical stab stonger and It looks like you did a good job of fixing it.

Thanks man - think I need to pay more attention to the sequence in the build manual in future!

I am laughing at you only because I thought I was the only one out there that did that. I did it on like my 5th plane that is even worse!!! It will be fine mine is still flying with the same fix.

I am a slow builder, primarily because I trial fit parts about a 100,000 times to look at the fit from all possible angles, before I open the glue. On my first Edge (only AirFoilZ so far), I almost made this mistake several times while trial fitting in this area. But I caught myself just before I put glue on the post... each time! LOL.
Nice slice and reassembly job, by the way. That section is quite likely stronger than the post was before it was cut...
