    Default Mobius Pro "Holy Cow"

Well after like a year my LHS Coyote Hobby brought in two AirFoilz planes.
One was the YAK-54 and the other a Mobius Pro. The price tag was 69.99 in the shop for each. I am sure others pay something close to that when they buy from off the web.

I used to register two win one of these fine planes. I remember when they first came out; I just could not believe a foam plane to fly like a larger balsa plane. I just could not agree. I have flown many planes, balsa and foam. I love the way the bigger planes feel in the air, they seem to move smoother than any of my foam planes. And with more precision!

My foam planes are great they run on little stuff, 1320 batts and are really maneuverable in small places. And they usually can take a beating better than any size balsa plane. You need that some times; when you have dumb thumbs are like me you like to fly close in some places I should not be flying that low or there period. Most of the time planes, just bounce off the ground. With a little CA it flies the same again. Foam planes are great and they have there purpose. Like practicing before a competition or having fun at the local park.

When I look at the kit I thought that it may take longer than I wanted it too. But I was watching the news that morning I picked the Mobius Pro up, it is going to rain in a day. So, I figure I better hurry up and get home and get it built.

I opened the package and wow, some really nice work. Smooth cuts and real nice lines.
Plenty of love went into the design of this plane. As I put everything together I noticed that the parts were a perfect fit and all parts went into place like two hands.

Well, it came time to put the electronics in it and I choose.
    Elevator 1 X HS-5065MG
    Rudder 1 X HS-5065MG
    Ailerons 2 X HS-56KB
    Motor E-flite 1020 KV 480 Prop 11X5.5
    ESC Thunderbird 36 AMP
Radio JR 9303 W/ Spectrum module

The build took 2 hours and an hour later it was ready for flight fist thing in the morning. I was playing with it trying to hover in the house. But the wife was getting a little mad at I kept blowing the stuff off the coffee table. So, I put it away for the night.

First thing it was get the kids on the bus for school and then I could play.

When I set this plane up I followed the instructions 20 degrees of movement. I plugged the Hobby city 2250 25C battery in and I got all the right beeps.

I spooled up the motor and it started moving. It started climbing in about 20 feet. I thought that the motor would torque the plane out. Nope it sure didn’t and the plane was up to about 200 feet in a few seconds. I was amazed. I then slowed it down still at attitude and a few clicks here and there it was flying level at any speed.

The rolls I performed with this plane were the best rolls I have seen, they were like the plane was in a barrel rolling down hill. My brother- law and also friend, asks what do you think? I didn’t say anything. I was to busy having fun to answer. He then says, man that was awesome looking. That is when I said to him, Man this plane flies like a big balsa plane. I started smiling and was smiling the whole 10 mins of flight time.

What I noticed about the plane, it flies like a dream. I could not believe it was me flying it. It made me look a lot better, than I thought I was. It felt real nice in my hands, it responded to my every command like a great solider. It was awesomely smooth as smoother as some of my other planes of balsa design. Because of the design you don’t here the foam rattling from the motor. It was nice to not hear that.

I must say, well done guys. You have made another life long customer. I am looking forward to getting another one soon. I am going back to Coyote to get the yak in a day or so. I am going to start entering the give–away again, because I just have to try and win one. It is a deal I can’t just refuse.

Thanks guys for the plane, great work and it does fly like the big ones.

Elvan Wilson II, your customer for life!
