Now that I have gotten the pleasure to fly all of the Airfoilz (except the Mobius) I thought I would do a write up on my thoughts of each! I must also mention that all of the Airfoilz aircraft handle wind better than any plane in my fleet! I have personally flown all of the Airfoilz in 20+MPH!!!
Airfoilz Profile Yak-54
The Profile Yak-54 is a great plane and has a gentle and forgiving way about it! Very smooth and cuts clean lines. The Yak-54 is the perfect plane to learn 3-D maneuvers with and has greatly improved my abilities. The Yak will perform any 3-D trick you can think of but truly shines if you are looking for a plane to learn or improve hovering or any high alpha maneuver. I would also recommend it for someone looking to move up from a 3 channel or a second 4 channel. (Just remember to keep the throws down). The Yak-54 is a great choice for flying in front of your house or at the local school or park. My favorite set-up is the following;
Motor: Turnigy 2213 20turn 1050kv 19A Outrunner, or Scorpion 2215-18
ESC: TURNIGY Plush 25amp Speed Controller or any other 25+amp ESC
Servos: I personal use HS-65’s. HS-55’s will work well too!
Lipo’s: Anything from 1200-2200mAh’s 3S, 15C or better. Larger lipos are better on windy days!
Receiver: I am using Spectrum AR6100’s.
Prop: I have tried them all and the best for me is the APC 10X4.7 SF or 10X5 E.

Airfoilz Profile Edge 540
The Edge is still to this day one of my all time favorites!! The Edge 540 is a 3-D machine…tumbles and spins like larger balsa planes! Take a bit more finesse and is not as gentle as the Yak-54. The Edge is AWESOME at anything high alpha and still cuts clean lines with some rudder input. Knife Edge is rock solid with the edge with ZERO coupling! The Edge builds confidence quickly and before you know it you will be down on the deck abusing the rudder!! If you already have 4 Channel experience then the Edge 540 is a good choice…if you are only moving up from 3 Channel experiences the Yak-54 is a better choice. My favorite set-up for the Edge 540 is the same as the Yak-54. Like the Yak-54, the Edge 540 is a great choice for front yard, local school or park flying!!

Airfoilz Profile “The Bipe”
In two words “MUST HAVE!!” This is the most unique and best flying Bi-plane out there!! ZERO rock in harriers and one of the easiest planes to hover! Very powerful rudder which will take a few flights to get used too! The Bipe will literally knife edge with almost ZERO rudder input! The Bipe will perform the most amazing Elevator/Parachute falls flat like it is on a wire! Really something to see!! The Bipe is not the best choice for a beginner and will take a few flights to get comfortable with such a responsive tail! I have tried a few different set-ups and this is my favorite:
Motor: Scorpion 3014-18 (Tons of power) or Scorpion 3008-32 (decent power)
ESC: Scorpion 35AMP ESC
Servos: I personal use HS-65’s.
Lipo’s: 2100-2200mAh’s 3S 20+C
Receiver: I am using Spectrum AR6100’s.
Prop: I like the 11X5 or 12X6

Now on to my new favorites!! The Full Fuse Airfoilz!!
Airfoilz Full Fuse Extra 260
What really separates the New Airfoilz Extra 260 from the competition is the performance! Simply put…the Extra 260 ROCKS!! The Extra flies big and will perform any maneuver you can throw at it. I have personally abused my Extra’s to the point where all other foamies would be ripped to pieces! Full throttle blenders, snaps rolls, waterfalls…the Extra can do it and will ask for more! The Extra makes hovering a breeze and harriers up-right and inverted are rock solid. High alpha knife edges are the Extra’s bread and butter…locks in with no coupling at all! The new full body decals really bring attention to the Extra in the air and on the ground. The Airfoilz Extra 260 is available in 8 custom color schemes and is available as a kit only or in a combo kit…just and a RX and you are ready to fly! I have tried a few different set-ups and this is my favorite:
Motor: Turnigy 2217 16turn 1050kv 23A Outrunner, or Scorpion 2215-18
ESC: TURNIGY Plush 25amp Speed Controller or any other 25+amp ESC
Servos: I personal use HS-65’s. HS-55’s will work well too!
Lipo’s: Anything from 1200-2200mAh’s 3S, 15C or better. Larger lipos are better on windy days!
Receiver: I am using Spectrum AR6100’s.
Prop: I have tried them all and the best for me is the APC 10X4.7 SF or 10X5 E. If you want a little more speed try the Xoar 11X5!

Airfoilz Full Fuse Yak-54
OK…this is my favorite of all the Airfoilz and is my current go to plane!! This YAK is just SICK!! It can do anything…flat spins on this are as flat as a pancake and you can actually gain altitude! Very snappy and impressively agile! Yet can be flown gentle and smooth! Color scheme is bright and I can’t tell you how many times I here this “That is foam??” I can’t say enough good things about this airframe! I have yet to find something that this Yak-54 lacks. If you haven’t flown one…stop what your doing and order one…you won’t regret it! I like the same set-up as the Extra 260 on the FF Yak-54.
