Been playing with placements to get the all the CG in the 0-0-0 position for totally neutral balance. This is so close, it's not funny. Perhaps not pretty - but for the way it flies, who cares??? I surely don't! Since the photo, installed battery seat belt and really wrung it out. Wow! It's the BEST FLYING PLANE I've ever put my thumbs on!!!

Hmmm, very interesting! I wonder how feasible it would be to cut a slot into the top of the fuse there to slide the battery inside... I suspect the pack would be too thick. Guess we'll have to wait for the new full fuse versions!

Matt, in doing that, the battery would move closer towards the thrust line (i.e. down from where it is), and then the moment the landing gear has on the plane about the z-axis would begin to dominate again. That said, I have my 2nd Edge here in the bag still... and on this one I am putting the Scorpion motor and a 2100 maH battery.
In doing this, if everything else is held constant, to keep the z-axis balance at zero with the heavier battery, the battery will need to move closer to the thrust line. PLUS... the 2100 maH battery is also longer, so it will need to move back towards the tail some, to keep the x-axis (fore/aft) CG at 4.25". I will figure out how to pull that off when the plane is in final stages of construction - really, last.
Expect pictures, but don't be holding your breath - my time is so limited, and I have another one to build for a friend of mine before I get to start my 2nd one!
